I began my career in community mental health in 1987, as a member of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps (JVC) NW. Early in my career, I was instrumental in launching the first non-profit mobile outreach case management program in King County, serving marginalized persons suffering from chronic mental illness and substance use disorders who had little access to social service support.
I graduated from Seattle University with a Masters degree in Counseling in 1997, becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State in 2001. I began my private practice in 2012.
My training encompasses work as an outreach case manager and program coordinator; a residential mental health specialist; day treatment counselor; college counselor; volunteer sexual assault & domestic violence advocate; group facilitator working with culturally and racially diverse populations and those struggling with vision loss. I have also worked as a research assistant and behavioral health specialist/utilization review coordinator.
When not working, I raise cats, enjoy musical adventures, spend time in nature and indulge various forms of creative expression.
